We Support Transverse Myelitis
Transverse Myelitis is a rare neurological disorder caused by inflammation across both sides of one level, or segment of the spinal cord, resulting often in paralysis. The Zimmer family is acutely aware of this disease because our niece Maria Hoge was diagnosed with it at the young age of six months. With years of hard work by her family, physical therapy, and some surgeries, Maria has evolved into a bright, energetic thirteen-year-old, but she is confined to a wheelchair. We realize the uphill climb that families must endure when faced with this disease. Therefore, one of our missions at Zimmer's Service Center and a goal of our KraZ racing team is to increase awareness of this devastating disease and garner support for the Transverse Myelitis Association in their drive to assist TM families and help find a cure. For more information, access the Transverse Myelitis Association website at www.myelitis.org.
